ENGR 400A - Historical Architectural Virtual Prototyping I Units: 4 ; Breadth Area: GE-UD-D Design, development and creation of business plans and interactive virtual prototypes of historical architectural buildings and structures with innovative technology to improve the historical preservation of such structures and enhance community understanding of historical architecture. Lecture Units: 2; Lab Units: 2.
Strongly Recommended Preparation: Upper division status (greater than 60 earned semester units) and completion of lower division Area D1-3 requirements. Prerequisites: Completion of GE Areas A1, A2, A3 and B4 with grade C- (CR) or better. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Use virtual prototyping on architectural and civil engineering projects;
- Analyze current research and applications in virtual reality, virtual worlds, interactive workspaces, game engines, and augmented reality as they apply to the built environment;
- Develop virtual reality experiences using design authoring software, virtual reality technology, and software;
- Create business plans for the wide implementation and marketing of the prototype
UD-D. Upper-division Social Sciences Learning Outcomes - analyze how power and social identity affect social outcomes for different cultural and economic groups using methods of social science inquiry and vocabulary appropriate to those methods;
- demonstrate an understanding of and ability to apply accurately disciplinary concepts of the social or behavioral sciences; and
