Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - explain the origins and underlying social and political assumptions of literary theory;
- identify different theories and explain their terminology;
- critique strengths and weaknesses of different theories and their application to literature;
- use critical theory in written interpretations of literature;
- apply appropriate theories to analyze literature and culture.
