ENGL 335 - Global Literature after 1900

Major works of global literature in English from 1900 to the present that reflect literary movements such as modernism and postmodernism, or genres such as colonial and post-colonial literature.

Strongly Recommended Preparation: ENGL 204.
Equivalent Quarter Course: ENGL 3760.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online, or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

explain the themes, narrative innovations, and different genres of global literature since 1900;
use critical theory to discuss, analyze, and respond to 20th and 21st century global literature;
design innovative presentations about literature, its authors, contexts, and relevance to our world;
develop and write clear, cogent essays about literature, demonstrating understanding of literary terminology, analytical and persuasive skills, and awareness of the writing process.
