MGMT 320 - Negotiation and Conflict Management


Units: 3
Negotiation and conflict management are key managerial skills. This course examines a range of conflict settings to develop students’ skills in negotiation and conflict resolution. These include conflict mapping, distributive and integrative negotiations, third party intervention and managing cross-cultural conflict.

Prerequisites: Junior, senior or post-baccalaureate standing.
Equivalent Quarter Course: MGMT 4520. 
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Describe concepts and theories of negotiation and conflict management
  2. Analyze conflict scenarios to select appropriate strategies for resolution.
  3. Design negotiation strategies and demonstrate skills in execution
  4. Modify strategies to account for cultural differences.
