Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Develop personal financial goals
  2. Calculate time value of money situations to analyze personal financial decisions
  3. Relate money management and savings activities to achieving financial goals.
  4. Describe the importance of taxes for personal financial planning.
  5. Describe the costs and benefits of different types of payment accounts.
  6. Examine your credit capacity and build your credit rating.
  7. Develop a plan to manage your debts.
  8. Identify strategies for effective consumer buying for a motor vehicle or a home.
  9. Describe home, motor vehicle, health insurance, property and life insurance.
  10. Describe fundamentals for investing in stocks, bonds, and mutual funds.
  11. Describe retirement planning and estate planning.
