ENGL 330 - Classical Literature Units: 4 Selected readings in classical literature in translation: epic, drama, lyric, and satire.
Equivalent Quarter Course: ENGL 3700. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Students will demonstrate knowledge of characteristic genres and works of classical literature;
- Students will demonstrate knowledge of characteristic themes and issues (cultural and philosophical) of classical literature;
- Students will learn to apply modern critical theories and methods to the elucidation of classical texts;
- Students will demonstrate their ability to write critically on topics of importance in the field of classical literature.
