ENGL 310 - Medieval Literature Units: 4 Selected readings in medieval literature in translation: epic, romance, drama, lyric, and satire.
Equivalent Quarter Course: ENGL 3710. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Students will demonstrate knowledge of characteristic genres and works of medieval literature;
- Students will demonstrate knowledge of characteristic themes and issues (cultural and religious) of medieval literature;
- Students will learn to apply modern critical theories and methods to the elucidation of medieval texts;
- Students will demonstrate their ability to write critically on topics of importance in the field of medieval literature.
