Selected readings in medieval literature in translation: epic, romance, drama, lyric, and satire.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:

Students will demonstrate knowledge of characteristic genres and works of medieval literature;
Students will demonstrate knowledge of characteristic themes and issues (cultural and religious) of medieval literature;
Students will learn to apply modern critical theories and methods to the elucidation of medieval texts;
Students will demonstrate their ability to write critically on topics of importance in the field of medieval literature.
