MGMT 656 - Quality and Lean Management


Units: 3
Quality and lean management, which are integral parts of modern business process development and improvement. Course topics include total quality management, six-sigma quality, lean management processes and tools, reliability management, statistical quality control, and ISO standards.

Prerequisites: MGMT 608.
Equivalent Quarter Course: MGMT 6526.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Develop an appreciation of quality management theory, principles, and practices.
  2. Apply quality and lean principles, strategy, and applications in managing operations and supply chain.
  3. Develop extensive skills in utilizing quantitative and qualitative methods and tools of quality and lean management to solve business and management problems.
  4. Identify and apply quality control models to improve quality and increase operational efficiency.
