OTL 680 - Building the Online Environment Units: 3 Design and implement an online teaching site, including assignments, interactivity, contact protocols, syllabus, course materials, and research and development resources for student use. Presentation of materials in various formats.
Prerequisites: All of: OTL 601, OTL 602, OTL 603, OTL 604. Co-requisites: OTL 606. Equivalent Quarter Course: OTL 6780. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely Online. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Develop and Complete the audience, instructor, content, and technology analyses.
- Develop the online course infrastructure that includes: Choice of delivery mechanism, Communication features, Student outcomes (goals and objectives of course), Student support materials, Features to be used in delivery mechanism.
- Create the course storyboard or outline entire course.
- Design and develop one learning unit that includes · Overview and Objectives · Lectures · Assignments · Interactivity · Assessment · Group work · Media.
- Develop the online course syllabus.
- Create the implementation and marketing plan Small Group Outcomes: Recognize and evaluate design, usability, readability and accessibility principles of an online site.
- Perform an expert review and evaluation of another’s course.
