OTL 605 - Educational Planning and Development for Online Programs Units: 3 History of innovation in education and its effect on educational culture and thought. Organizational and managerial issues, problems, decision-making and solutions for successful implementation of online programs. Solutions to unique problems in online teaching environments, such as intensive faculty development and support.
Prerequisites: All of: OTL 601, OTL 602, OTL 603, OTL 604. Co-requisites: OTL 606. Equivalent Quarter Course: OTL 6705. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely Online. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Discuss key issues that confront online program development.
- Evaluate critical “program success” factors and their implications for program design.
- Discuss potential constraints and barriers to launching an online program, and procedures to deal with them.
- Identify stakeholders who should be involved in the planning and implementation processes.
- Justify the importance of “universal design” considerations as the program is planned.
