ENGL 252 - Vocabulary Building Units: 4 Designed to help students build varied, precise vocabularies; introduces the historical development and present-day resources of the English vocabulary; special attention given to Latin and Greek word-building prefixes, suffixes, and elements.
Equivalent Quarter Course: ENGL 2010. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online, or Hybrid. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - demonstrate knowledge of the methods and technical knowledge of vocabulary study in general;
- demonstrate knowledge of the informational resources available for the study of vocabulary, particularly on-line resources;
- demonstrate knowledge of the characteristic processes of word formation in English;
- demonstrate knowledge of the common prefixes and suffixes derived from Latin, and Greek.
