HSC 115 - Human Health and Wellness

Analysis and application of the Wellness concept for healthful living. Instruction in techniques and procedure for self-care, self-examination, emergency care and efficient utilization of the medical care system.

Equivalent Quarter Course: HSC 1100.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online, or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F grading only.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Apply the Six Dimensions of Health and their relation to disease prevalence and prevention.
  2. Integrate the concept of mind, body, and spirit into their own lifestyles to create a positive behavioral growth change.
  3. Integrate the concept of mind, body, and spirit into helping others create a positive behavioral growth change.
  4. Discuss how social, psychological, physical, environmental, mental, and spiritual factors influence an individual’s health.
  5. Discuss non-conventional therapies used to treat disease and illness.
  6. Demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between lifestyle choices and health
