HSC 499 - Capstone in Health Sciences Units: 3 Capstone course where students apply knowledge and skills gained in their courses by exploring select issues in health, researching and analyzing existing policies to make a recommendation.
Prerequisites: HSC 400. Equivalent Quarter Course: HSC 4500 and HSC 4700. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Hybrid. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Spring ONLY
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Apply knowledge and skills gained from their courses by analyzing a current issue in health to demonstrate competency in health sciences
- Develop self-directed learning skills, interpersonal skills and group skills critical for a health professional in an interdisciplinary setting.
- Design a presentation discussing health issues affecting diverse populations and propose solutions that are culturally appropriate and sensitive.
