MATH 406 - Advanced Study for School Mathematics Units: 3 Foundations of school mathematics from an advanced standpoint. An in depth study of middle and high school level algebra, geometry, statistics and number theory and its applications, theoretical foundations and extensions.
Prerequisites: MATH 120 with grade C- or better. Credit Restrictions: Not for mathematics major or minor credit. Equivalent Quarter Course: MATH 4030. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Reason abstractly and quantitatively.
- Model with mathematics.
- Look for and make use of mathematical structure.
- Look for and express regularity in repeated reasoning in solving mathematics problems.
