KIN 447 - Motor Skill Expertise


Units: 3
Science of expertise in motor skill acquisition and performance. Evidence-based concepts and principles underlying elite training and skilled physical performance. Practical applications for teaching, coaching, and training elite performers.

Strongly Recommended Preparation: Satisfactory completion of KIN 304 and KIN 308.
Prerequisites: KIN 307 with grade B or better.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online, or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Describe and explain science based concepts and principles of motor skills expertise.
  2. Search, access, and consume scientific information in the field of expert performance.
  3. Critically evaluate motor skill teaching methods and coaching approaches to expertise development.
  4. Apply concepts and principles of expertise development to practical situations with varied populations.
