MUS 614 - Seminar in Music of the Nineteenth Century Units: 3 Musical styles, forms and performance practice from 1900 to early 20th century with detailed analyses of representative works and close reading of historical writings.
Prerequisites: M.A. Music major. Equivalent Quarter Course: MUS 6135. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Actively participate in seminar discussions focused on important and relevant issues in the history of music.
- Address complex and challenging questions related to music history through the application of critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and research methodology.
- Communicate your findings clearly and persuasively through both written and verbal means.
- Work cooperatively and respectfully with classmates on classroom, research, and presentation projects.
