KIN 691 - University Thesis


Units: 4
Investigation of area or problem in kinesiology. Address meaningful research question and write a formal research paper submitted to University. Supervision by departmental committee; at least one member must be on graduate faculty. Oral defense required.

Strongly Recommended Preparation: Capstone course that should be taken in the last semester of the program.
Credit Restrictions: Open to Kinesiology majors only.
Equivalent Quarter Course: KIN 6910.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Synthesize and integrate multidisciplinary knowledge.
  2. Understanding broad knowledge in the field and deeper knowledge in a sub-disciplinary area. 
  3. Assimilate the contents of the relevant literature and relate their work to this. 
  4. Plan, implement and document an independent degree project using appropriate methods and analyses.
  5. Formulate issues, plan and carry out advanced tasks within specified time limits.
  6. Understand and implement ethical approaches to research.
