REC 640 - Law and Risk in Hospitality, Recreation and Tourism Units: 3 Law and risk in operations, facilities, services, programs and event management in hospitality, recreation and tourism. Methods for assessing and reducing risk, and elements of a comprehensive risk management plan.
Prerequisites: Department consent. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online, or Hybrid. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Assess risk factors affecting the operation and management of facilities, services, programs and events in hospitality, recreation and tourism.
- Analyze methods to reduce or mitigate risk in hospitality, recreation and tourism settings.
- Investigate legal considerations and industry standards impacting provision of services, facilities and programs in hospitality, recreation and tourism.
- Develop a comprehensive risk management plan for one hospitality, recreation and tourism setting.
