ENGL 623 - Ethnic American Literature Units: 4 Multiethnic American works, authors, and literary topics of the 20th and 21st centuries.
Prerequisites: Post-baccalaureate standing. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Use clear and cogent prose to analyze, interpret, and compare recurring themes in works of ethnic American literature from a variety of cultural perspectives.
- Articulate key ideas and issues in a variety of culturally-specific theoretical and critical approaches to literature.
- Develop written literary criticism for an academic audience.
- Work independently with traditional and nontraditional research.
- Share and present ideas, insights, and literary interpretations of literature in a collaborative, collegial environment.
