ENGL 623 - Ethnic American Literature

Multiethnic American works, authors, and literary topics of the 20th and 21st centuries.

Prerequisites: Post-baccalaureate standing.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
 

  1. Use clear and cogent prose to analyze, interpret, and compare recurring themes in works of ethnic American literature from a variety of cultural perspectives.
  2. Articulate key ideas and issues in a variety of culturally-specific theoretical and critical approaches to literature.
  3. Develop written literary criticism for an academic audience.
  4. Work independently with traditional and nontraditional research.
  5. Share and present ideas, insights, and literary interpretations of literature in a collaborative, collegial environment.
