ENGL 613 - 19th-Century British Literature Units: 4 Study of major works, authors, and literary topics of the Romantic and Victorian periods.
Prerequisites: Post-baccalaureate standing. Equivalent Quarter Course: ENGL 6405. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to analyze and interpret various Victorian literary texts in clear and cogent prose.
- Discuss 2-3 theoretical perspectives about literature and apply these to the literature we read.
- Prepare a research seminar paper that demonstrates facility with conducting research in traditional and nontraditional ways.
- Work collaboratively in class presentations and independently on a seminar research paper of 12-15 pages.
