ENGL 632 - Children’s Literature Units: 4 Authors, genres, themes or movements in global and multicultural literature for children.
Prerequisites: Post-baccalaureate standing. Equivalent Quarter Course: ENGL 6740. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Analyze and interpret recurring themes in global and multicultural children’s literature in clear and cogent prose.
- Apply contemporary theoretical and critical approaches to global works of literature for children.
- Use stages in the writing process to develop literary criticism for an academic audience.
- Work independently with traditional and nontraditional research.
- Share and present ideas, insights, and literary interpretations of children’s literature in a collaborative, collegial environment.
