ENGL 641 - Studies in Poetry and Poetics Units: 4 Prosody and other formal issues; theory and practice of one poet or of a particular “school” or movement; relationships between poetry and cultural contexts.
Equivalent Quarter Course: ENGL 6675. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Demonstrate their understanding of prescribed themes (such as “eros”) in literary history through participation in classroom discussion and in a variety of written assignments.
- Conduct approved independent research in an area of poetry and poetics, resulting in both oral reports and formal written essays.
