MGMT 300 - Business and Professional Ethics


Units: 3 ; Breadth Area: Social Justice
Focuses on ethical issues related to the workplace with explicit attention to how business ethics practices can contribute to social justice among various stakeholders of business. Topics include ethical policies to promote fairness and corporate social responsibility.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Understand and apply the fundamentals of ethical philosophy and theory.
  2. Demonstrate critical and analytical thinking skills necessary to successfully identify and manage ethical decisions and dilemmas in management, both individually and as members of a team.
  3. Produce written documents that express articulate, logical, and persuasive positions relating to complex ethical issues.
  4. Develop and deliver effective oral presentations on business ethics topics using appropriate tools and technology

  1. use a disciplinary perspective to analyze issues of social justice and equity;
  2. describe the challenges to achieving social justice; and
  3. identify ways in which individuals and/or groups can contribute to social justice within local communities, nations, or the world.
