BIOL 671 - Advanced Topics in Physiology Units: 3 Advanced study of selected areas of physiology with emphasis on recent research developments and experimental techniques. Includes in-depth discussions of physiological mechanisms at the molecular, cellular, and systems levels.
Prerequisites: M.S. Biological Science major. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Apply the basic principles of experimentation and data analysis to address questions in physiology.
- Demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills when presenting physiological information to different audiences.
- Critically evaluate published scientific information within the field of physiology for the strengths and weaknesses of the presented evidence and conclusions.
- Explain the role that physiology research plays in addressing problems of broader human societal concern.
