ART 474 - Figure Drawing II Units: 3 Advanced practice of drawing the figure, including further study of anatomy using skeletons and muscle charts, as well as contemporary approaches to figuration, color and non-traditional techniques and media.
Prerequisites: ART 274. Repeatability: May be repeated for credit for a maximum of 6 units. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Analyze and visualize the skeletal structure as it underlies the human figure;
- Analyze and visualize the muscular system as it underlies the human figure;
- Demonstrate a more accomplished figure drawing style;
- ractice creative contemporary approaches to the figure regarding composition and interactions of color and the figure;
- Practice a creative approach to non-traditional techniques of depicting the figure;
- Critique and think critically when viewing and discussing figurative works from an anatomical perspective;
- Critique and think critically viewing and discussing figurative drawings from contemporary perspectives.
