HSC 420 - Occupational Health Units: 3 Health and safety issues related to occupations including workplace physical, biological, and psychological hazards, safety legislation, ergonomics, workers compensation, industrial hygiene, workplace violence, disaster preparedness and terrorism.
Prerequisites: ENSC 280. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online, or Hybrid. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - understand the historical advent of occupational health with increasing industrialization;
- demonstrate knowledge in all workplace-based hazards and their prevention;
- demonstrate thorough understanding of workplace violence, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, disaster preparedness and terrorism;
- understand workplace safety regulations, compliance and the importance of worker’s compensation.
