CRJ 375 - Family Violence and the Criminal Justice System Units: 3 An introduction to the types of violence occurring within the family unit. Potential causes of family violence, impact on the individual and community, and criminal justice response are discussed.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Define the different types of family violence;
- Describe the evolution and history of family abuse, including global violence against women;
- Examine the impact of public policy on victims of family violence;
- Analyze the dynamics associated with family violence;
- Discuss current issues in family violence, prevention, and intervention.
