CRJ 330 - Crime Prevention and Control


Units: 3
Examines the concepts of planning and implementation of crime prevention and control systems.  The role of security in urban society and civilian involvement in crime prevention.

Equivalent Quarter Course: CRJA 3300.
Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely Online, or Hybrid.
Grading: A-F grading only.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Identify and evaluate crime prevention techniques;
  2. Compare crime prevention methods focused on family, schools, community, and policing;
  3. Describe crime prevention policies and their effects on recidivism;
  4. Apply basic crime prevention techniques to a crime problem;
  5. Identify and evaluate different crime-problem interventions.
