The relationship between the criminal justice systems and the public with particular emphasis on police relations with diverse communities and minorities.

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Examine the history of police and their relationship with communities;
  2. Analyze issues of discretion, ethics, decision-making and morality;
  3. Identify specific law enforcement strategies to address substantive problems;
  4. Identify target-specific law enforcement strategies and their impact on the community;
  5. Define and discuss police policies in community relations.
