HDEV 499 - Senior Research Seminar Units: 4 The capstone experience in the major. Design and completion of independent research project on a topic in the field of Human Development.
Prerequisites: HDEV 401. Co-requisites: HDEV 400. Equivalent Quarter Course: HDEV 4811 or HDEV 4812. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online, or Hybrid. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Demonstrate critical thinking ability by summarizing, comparing, synthesizing, and critiquing interdisciplinary human development perspectives; (SLO2; ILO1);
- Demonstrate the ability to access information, design, and conduct individual and/or group research projects, and present them clearly, logically, and persuasively; (SLO3; ILO1,2,4,6);
- Demonstrate the ability to identify and address problems by applying human development knowledge in diverse contexts; (SLO4; ILO1,3,4,5); and,
- Demonstrate the ability to understand themselves reflectively and others empathetically. (SLO5; ILO3,5)
