ES 322 - Oral Traditions Units: 3 ; G.E./G.R. Area: C4; Diversity An examination of oral traditions in a cross cultural context, with special emphasis on collective memory, folklore, and testimonial literature of indigenous and mestizo/a populations. Students will examine oral history, interviewing techniques, immigration, popular culture, and genealogy.
Strongly Recommended Preparation: Upper division status (greater than 60 earned semester units) and completion of lower division Area C requirements. Prerequisites: Completion of GE Areas A1, A2, A3 and B4 with grade C- (CR) or better. Equivalent Quarter Course: ES 3230. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online, or Hybrid. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). G.E./G.R. Area Satisfied: C4 - Upper Division Arts or Humanities, Overlay - Diversity Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY
