HIST 389 - Social Justice and Reform Movements in America Units: 3 ; G.E./G.R. Area: D4; Social Justice Examination of reform movements in US history, which may include: Abolitionism, Evangelicalism, Reconstruction, Labor, Civil Rights, feminism, environmentalism, LGBTQ rights, and the rise of the Religious Right; including discussion of what drives organization, identity development and tactics employed for change.
Strongly Recommended Preparation: Upper division status (greater than 60 earned semester units) and completion of lower division Area D1-3 requirements. Prerequisites: Completion of GE Areas A1, A2, A3 and B4 with grade C- (CR) or better. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice).
