MATH 319 - Mathematics in Art and Architecture Units: 3 ; G.E./G.R. Area: B6 Patterns, symmetry, structure, shape and beauty - topics at the heart of mathematics. Physical and aesthetic importance of various mathematical constructions including tilings, polyhedra and perspective. Explore the relationship between mathematics and aesthetic and functional structures.
Strongly Recommended Preparation: Upper division status (greater than 60 earned semester units) and completion of lower division Areas B1-B3. Prerequisites: Completion of GE Areas A1, A2, A3 and B4 with grade C- (CR) or better. Credit Restrictions: Not for mathematics major or minor credit.
