PHYS 462 - Solid State Physics Units: 3 Introduction to the classical and quantum-based theories and models describing the physics of solids. This course includes; crystal and electronic structure, lattice dynamics, phonons, band theory, optical properties of solids, semiconductor physics and superconductivity.
Prerequisites: MATH 210, and PHYS 126 or PHYS 137. Equivalent Quarter Course: PHYS 4600. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice). Course Typically Offered: Variable Intermittently
