HSC 390 - Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Communities and Health Units: 3 ; G.E./G.R. Area: C4 From the medicalization of homosexuality to the AIDS epidemic to gender expression, LGBT communities have been defined in many ways in relation to concepts of health. Relying on health humanities, this class explores LGBT cultural expression o health as meaning-making.
Strongly Recommended Preparation: Upper division status (greater than 60 earned semester units) and completion of lower division Area C requirements; and HSC 130. Prerequisites: Completion of GE Areas A1, A2, A3 and B4 with grade C- (CR) or better. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, or Entirely Online, or Hybrid. Grading: A-F grading only. G.E./G.R. Area Satisfied: C4 - Upper Division Arts or Humanities Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
