MUS 416 - Jazz Arranging for Large Ensemble Units: 3 Focus on arranging and orchestration techniques for large jazz ensemble. Study of ensemble scores from the jazz masters and the use of doublings, mutes, voicings, upper-structure triads, and linear harmonization to arrange and compose for big band.
Prerequisites: MUS 212 and MUS 316. Equivalent Quarter Course: MUS 4077. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only.
