SPPA 406 - Adult Neurocognitive Disorders Units: 3 Clinical introduction to neurocognitive disorders, namely aphasia, dementia, cognitive impairments, traumatic brain injury, and right hemisphere disorder. Emphasizes learning about human cognitive and communicative systems, identifying characteristics of NCDs, identifying evidence-based principles and techniques for assessment and intervention. Please note: effective spring 2019 this course prefix will change from SPPA to SLHS.
Prerequisites: SPPA 301, SPPA 304, SPPA 401, senior standing and declared major in B.S. Speech Pathology and Audiology, or admitted graduate student. Co-requisites: SPPA 407. Equivalent Quarter Course: SPPA 4866. Possible Instructional Methods: Hybrid (every section of this course may be taught both online and on-ground). Grading: A-F grading only.
