ART 325 - Race and Representation in American Art Units: 3 ; G.E./G.R. Area: C4; Diversity The construction and representation of race across American art and visual culture from colonial encounter to contemporary movement politics, attending to how power functions through visual images to imbed ideas about identification in subcultural communities and dominant culture.
Prerequisites: Completion of GE areas A1, A2, A3 and B4. Equivalent Quarter Course: ART 3040. Possible Instructional Methods: Entirely On-ground, Entirely On-line, Hybrid (every section of this course may be taught both online and on-ground). Grading: A-F grading only. G.E./G.R.
