Business Administration Minor  

Effective August 18, 2020

Elective Courses (revisions: strikeout and underlined)

  • Note: Of BUS MGMT 385 and ECON 385, students will only receive credit for taking one of these two courses.  If either course is used toward the requirements for the Business Administration minor, the other course should not be taken because it will not be counted toward the requirements for the Business Administration minor or for any other majors, concentrations, or minors offered by the College of Business and Economics.

Biostatistics, M.S.

Effective August 18, 2020

Admission Requirements have been revised with the following:

  • A baccalaureate degree or equivalent.
  • Differential and Integral Calculus (MATH 130, 131).
  • Departmental Approval through department application. The Department application consists of:
    • A statement of purpose;
    • A list of math and statistics courses taken with brief descriptions of content and grades;
    • Three letters of recommendation (or recent GRE scores).
    • Please send all materials in a single email to statistics@csueastbay.edu.

In addition to the above minimum requirements for admission, if students have some of the following background they will be at an advantage both as to selection for admission to the program and optimal progress toward the degree if admitted:

  • interest or experience in a setting where studies or experiments are conducted for the collection of data
  • multiple integration and infinite series
  • matrix algebra
  • basic statistics and probability
  • knowledge of a computer programming language

Please note that there are two parts to the application, the university application has to be submitted online. The second part is the department application, materials for which are to be mailed to statistics@csueastbay.edu.


Chemistry Minor  

Effective August 18, 2020

Chemistry minor requirements have been corrected with the following:

Minor Requirements (24 units):

  1. CHEM 111 General Chemistry I

  2. CHEM 112 General Chemistry II

  3. CHEM 220 Quantitative Analysis

  4. CHEM 331 Organic Chemistry I

  5. CHEM 332 Organic Chemistry II

  • Plus one or more additional courses from upper division chemistry courses to reach 9 units not included in the student’s major, if necessary.

Construction Management, B.S.  

Effective August 18, 2020

Program Learning Outcomes 1-20 have been revised to the following:

Students graduating with a B.S. in Construction Management will be able to:

  1. Identify, formulate, and solve broadly-defined technical problems by applying knowledge of mathematics and science and/or engineering to areas relevant to construction.
  2. Formulate or design a system, process, procedure, or program to meet desired needs.
  3. Develop and conduct experiments or test hypotheses, analyze and interpret data, and use construction science and professional judgment to draw conclusions.
  4. Communicate effectively with a range of audiences.
  5. Understand ethical and professional responsibilities and the impact of technical and/or scientific solutions in global,  economic, environmental, and societal contexts.
  6. Function effectively on teams that establish goals, plan tasks, meet deadlines, and analyze risk and uncertainty

In addition, the program curriculum enables students to achieve the construction management program criteria competencies as listed below:

  • P01. Construction project management from pre-design through commissioning; 
  • P02. project life-cycle and sustainability; 
  • P03. health and safety, accident prevention, and regulatory compliance; 
  • P04. law, contract documents administration, and dispute prevention and resolution; 
  • P05. materials, labor, and methods of construction; 
  • P06. finance and accounting principles; 
  • P07. planning and scheduling; 
  • P08. cost management including plan reading, quantity take offs and estimating; 
  • P09. project delivery methods; 
  • P10. leadership and managing people; 
  • P11. business and communication skills

Speech-Language Pathology, M.S.  

Effective August 18, 2020

Accreditation sentance has been revised as the following:

  • The Master’s degree program is accredited by the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and the California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC).

    The Master’s degree program is accredited by the Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and by the  California Commission on Teacher Credentialing (CCTC). 


Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages, M.A.  .

Admission Requirements

To be admitted to the M.A. in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL),  students must hold a baccalaureate degree in English, linguistics, speech communication, or other related areas with a 3.0 overall GPA, and have completed the following two prerequisite courses or their equivalents:
