Program Description
The CSUEB Mathematics Single Subject Matter Certificate Program includes a variety of courses intended to prepare students for a career as a high school mathematics teacher. The certification allows a student to waive taking the three required math California Subject Examinations for Teachers (CSETs). This program is intended for students who have a Bachelor’s Degree, but do not have a B.S. in Mathematics since a B.S. in mathematics already waives the math CSETs. In addition to the required mathematics courses, a year of education courses in a credential program and practice teaching is required before the California Secondary Teaching Credential in Mathematics can be granted.
