The goal of the Astronomy minor is to provide students in any major a survey of astronomical concepts, history and methodology. The minor requires taking either the Algebra or Calculus based, lower-division introductory sequences, which are required by many other majors in the Sciences, as well as a lower-division Astronomy lab. Astronomy minors will learn about the origins and history of the universe in the required upper division Cosmology course and can select from a range of other electives including Astrophysics and Extrasolar Planets.
