Minor Requirements (18 units)
The Real Estate minor is designed to prepare students for careers as real estate analysts, portfolio managers, property managers, urban planners, appraisers, acquisition specialists, developers, brokers, market and site location analysts, residential lenders, commercial lenders, and housing analysts. Completing the minor waives the two-year California Real Estate Salesperson’s experience requirement needed to qualify to take the California Real Estate Broker’s exam. The minor program is designed to complement your primary field of study.
Note:
- No more than 9 units used to fulfill other requirements (e.g., for general education, a major, concentrations, or other minors) can be counted toward the requirements for the Real Estate minor.
- Courses taken for CR/NC (credit/no credit) will not be counted toward the requirements for the Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA) program because courses for BSBA must be completed with a letter grade of “C-” or better (“C” or better for BUS 499).
- ECON 335 requires ECON 200 (Principles of Microeconomics) as a prerequisite. Taking ECON 335 may lead to a total of more than 18 units to complete the Real Estate minor.
