Black Studies Minor

The Black Studies minor offers students majoring in another discipline the opportunity to acquire knowledge and understanding of groups across the African diaspora. The minor allows an exploration of anti-racism, diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice through the art, literature, politics, and social dynamics of Black communities. This course of study will help prepare students to become dynamic leaders in fields such as education, health, criminal justice, business, law, non-profit management and more.

Minor Requirements (15 units)


The Black Studies Minor offers students majoring in another discipline the opportunity to aquire knowledge and understanding in one of the nation’s emerging and rapidly growing ethnic groups. An exploration of art, literature, politics, and social dynamics of this community will prepare students to become dynamic leaders in fields such as education, law, non-profit management and more.
