The department is not accepting students into the Graduate Economic Studies Certificate program. This program will be discontinued effective Fall 2016.

Graduate Economics Studies (45 units)

To be eligible for the Certificate in Graduate Economics Studies a student must complete a satisfactory program of study (45 units) as approved by the department and the graduate coordinator, to include:

A. Required Courses (25 units)

ECON 6105 - Seminar: Macro-Economic Theory Units: 4
ECON 6400 - Seminar: Econometrics Units: 4
ECON 6896 - Research Methods Units: 5
ECON 6511 - Advanced Applied Econometrics Units: 4

B. Five Seminars from: (20 units)

ECON 6200 - Seminar: Comparative Economic Systems Units: 4
ECON 6250 - Seminar: Project Analysis Units: 4
ECON 6315 - Seminar: Monetary Theory Units: 4
ECON 6370 - Seminar: Public Sector Economics Units: 4
ECON 6520 - Seminar: Industrial Organization and Public Policy Units: 4
ECON 6680 - Seminar: Labor Economics Units: 4
ECON 6710 - Seminar: International Economic Development Units: 4

C. Maintain

Maintain a 3.00 overall GPA and a 2.5 GPA in the required courses listed under section “A” above and meet the University Writing Skills Requirement.
