Mission Statement

The mission of the B.A. program in Sociology is to provide students with the tools and opportunities they need to critically examine a wide range of social theories and social problems. Students learn about the workings of social, political, and cultural institutions, patterns of group life, social change, and the social causes and consequences of human behavior. We prepare students for a wide range of careers in Social Work, Human Resource Management, the Law, Teaching, Counselling, Social Media, non-profit work, and other areas. Students also leave the program well-prepared for graduate-level study in a variety of disciplines.
