CRJ 430 - Victimology & Crime Victims Units: 3 The criminal justice system from the perspective of the victim and the victim’s needs/concerns. Various facets of victimology including: victimization data, victim compensation, psychological impacts of crime on victims, and the victim rights movement are discussed.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall & Spring
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Explain the history of victimology;
- Describe the impact of public policy and the crime victims’ movement on victim rights;
- Analyze the methodology used to determine crime and victimization rates;
- Distinguish the differences between specific victim populations and varying victimization rates. Identify current issues in victimology.
