CIVE 319 - Fluid Mechanics Units: 3 Incompressible fluid mechanics with particular emphasis on topics in analysis and applications in civil engineering areas; principles of continuity, momentum and energy, kinematics of flow and stream functions, potential flow, laminar motion, turbulence, and boundary-layer theory.
Prerequisites: PHYS 135 Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground. Grading: A-F grading only. Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY
Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
- Illustrate basic fluid properties and fluid statics.
- Understand the principles of fluid dynamics.
- Be able to apply your knowledge of math and basic sciences to design a system, a component, or a process considering realistic constraints.
