FIN 410 - Problems in Corporate Finance


Units: 3
Studies of specific problems in corporate financial policy formulation and decision-making using financial data bases and models.

Prerequisites: FIN 300.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground or Online-Asynchronous.
Grading: A-F grading only.
Course Typically Offered: Fall ONLY


Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Outline the process and methods of financial decision-making.
  2. Identify appropriate financial theory and analytical techniques to solve various corporate financial problems.
  3. Develop techniques for corporate decision making under conditions of risk.
  4. Investigate the elements of corporate financial policy.
  5. Apply an integrated approach to problem-solving and decision-making theory to analytical techniques, and investment decision models presented in previous courses.
  6. Conduct financial decision-making in areas of current asset management, capital budgeting, capital structure considerations, the lease-versus-buy dynamic, and/or mergers and acquisitions.
  7. Communicate analytical insights and conclusions to various corporate stakeholders - customers, creditors, stockholders, and management.
  8. Convey solutions both verbally and in writing.
