BAN 620 - Data Mining Units: 3 Fundamental concepts of data mining and extensive hands-on experience in applying the concepts to real-world applications. Topics include dimension reduction, classification, association analysis, clustering and model evaluation techniques. Business applications of data mining techniques are emphasized.
Prerequisites: BAN 602. Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground or Hybrid. Grading: A-F grading only. Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to: - Apply data mining tools to analyze business data and implement the models using advanced software packages.
- Interpret results, simulate scenarios and develop recommendations that support decision making.
- Analyze datasets from various industries and functional areas.
