REC 425 - Strategic Positioning in Recreation


Units: 3
Strategic planning principles and the influence of organizational culture. Strategic positioning and partnering with stakeholders, including economic, social, and political.  Financial management, negotiation strategies and conflict resolution within the workplace. 

Strongly Recommended Preparation: HOS 100 and REC 100.
Possible Instructional Methods: On-ground, or Hybrid or Online-Asynchronous.
Grading: A-F or CR/NC (student choice).

Student Learning Outcomes - Upon successful completion of this course students will be able to:
  1. Demonstrate the principles of strategic planning including how organizational culture influences success.
  2. Identify the principles of strategic positioning and partnering within the industry and community.
  3. Analyze the principles of financial management including grant funding, public financials, and nonprofits.
  4. Formulate strategies for negotiations and conflict resolutions within the workplace.
